About the Office The District Attorney of Floyd County is responsible for prosecuting every
violation of state law within the bounds of Floyd County. After an arrest warrant is
taken for a criminal violation, the District Attorney presents sworn testimony to
the Grand Jury or, in the cases where it is allowed, draws up accusations, which if
they are contested, must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
